So, as a good Mama, I decided to take Kingsley to the dog park this morning before the lightening storms struck. Unbeknown to me, it rained last night. A lot. And there's nothing that Kingsley loves more than puddles.

The Last Patch of Snow
Kingsley has had a rough morning. First the dreaded vacuum made an appearance. Then we got outside to find most of the snow melted! For those of you who do not know, Kingsley not only loves the snow, but it's his favorite place to do his business. The awkward transition from snow to grass thus leaves Kingsley confused, bewildered, and uncertain. Alas, what will tomorrow hold?!

Off to Doggy Daycare!
Barely able to contain his excitement and sit still for a photo, Kingsley is off to doggy daycare today! Check back after 9PM for his report card!

Tug-of-War with Best Friend, Peanut!
Kingsley had an awesome weekend full of one-on-one doggy playtime. Now, if he's lucky, going to CT means playing with an adorable Jack Russell Terrier, Peanut. While they may seem like an unlikely pair, their freindship is like that of Danny Devito and Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1988 movie, Twins. While Kingsley may be big and goofy-looking, Peanut has all the brains and cunning in the world. Need I say who lost this tug-of-war?

Bring Back the Cold Weather!!
While we humans may be loving this weather, Kingsley's not so hot on it. With diminished energy levels, all he can do is muster up the strength to find a cool spot on the floor.

A Deer in Headlights
Kingsley's pretty tired today so there's not much to report. But as I was photographing him sleeping, he woke up and gave me this face. To me, he looks like a
cross between a dog and a deer.

Play Time with a Fellow Wheaten
Lo and behold, as we approached the dog park today we spied another Wheaten Terrier! It's not often that Kingsley gets to play with another of his own breed. And this little guy only affirmed that Kingsley is huge compared to the breed standard. Strangely enough, this Wheaten was also quite aggressive during play, and brought out some aggression in Kingsley. Not our favorite dog park experience all in all, but at least Kings got some exercise.

As Close as He Can Get
After all our weekend excitement, Michael has taken ill with flu-like symptoms. And while Kingsley may have been initially excited by the prospect of his Papa staying home, he soon realized that today wasn't going to be a "romp in the dog park." With Michael quarantined, Kingsley has resigned himself to sleeping outside the bedroom door.

Happy Valentine's Day, Papa! Love, Kingsley
Well, as you all know, today is Valentine's Day. And Kingsley and his Mama didn't know what to get for his Pops. Since we all know how much Kingsley admires his Papa, AND how much his Papa loves seeing Kingsley dressed up, what better present than a Valentine's Day-themed photographic tribute to his hard-working, tie-wearing father. Happy Valentine's Day, Michael. We love you! (p.s. the tie was not damaged in the making of this Valentine).

Enjoying the Wide Expanse of a Fenced in Backyard
Kinglsey's having nothing less than an awesome weekend. Having left the concrete
behind us, Kingsley's enjoying, uninhibited by the leash, the yet snow
covered grass that suburbia offers him.

Yeah, Why Not Play Lying Down?
The hardest part about yesterday was letting go. It was, potentially, the beginning of the end. Would Kingsley -- after tasting the freedom of unrestricted, all-day playtime -- be bored at home with me? Would he grow tired of his toys, his bed, his usual spots on the couch, in front of the TV, under the kitchen table and bed? Well, does this look like a sulking pup to you?
I'll let you decide.
A Perfect Report Card
Well folks, Kings is back. And while we may never know just went on during doggy daycare, his report card gives us some insight into the fun-filled day. Needless to say, he's more than welcome back (not that I'll want to part with him readily). Oh, but let's not talk about the fact that his "level of separation anxiety" was "LOW"... that really cut straight to the heart, Kings.

First Day of Doggy Daycare
Today might just be the best day of Kingsley's life. At this very moment he is (hopefully) frolicking and wrestling and chasing one dog after another. While doggy daycare is not our first choice (is his Mama not enough? :( ) we needed to schedule a "trial run" before we board him there in March. Fingers crossed, we won't get a phone call requiring that we pick up our overly excited and rambunctious puppy. Meanwhile, his Mama's sitting at home, expecting to see his face peek around the corner at any minute.

Glamour Shot: The Tousled Look
Today Kingsley is sporting the "just rolled out of bed, haven't been brushed in days" look. Who needs a bath anyway? ... Grooming is overrated.

A Quiet Day
Not too much to report today... after a quick jaunt at the dog park, Kings appears to be spent. Having moved from the floor to the couch, he's currently making an excellent armrest.

Braving the Vet!
Pooped after a Good Romp at the Dog Park
After a morning of cavorting around the apartment and nearly knocking over my Russian teacher, Kingsley and I made our way to the dog park to burn off some energy. Now, a few hours later, he's half sitting / half standing, peering out the window, and fighting (yet failing) to keep his eyes open.

A Peaceful Walk Takes a Turn for the Worst
It's a beautiful day, and Kingsley is enjoying a morning walk. But then, all of a sudden, we see that dreaded machine, looming in the distance. Kingsley backs up and looks at me with apprehension. I urge him forward, and in a moment of yet unseen courage, he greets his foe. Victory.

A Dog Who's Not a Afraid to Get Down and Dirty
After all his doggy friends had left the dog park, Kings got down to business gnawing on a stick. If only he'd learn his lesson... last week he bit off too much to chew (i.e., he threw up).
Ready for a car ride!!
Kingsley and I were out for a walk, and I needed to get something from the car... the poor guy, he thought we were going for a car ride!!

Mom, I just want to sit on the couch!
Kingsley and his Mama had a battle of wills after he got muddy from playing outside. While he really wanted to get up on the couch, he was a good pup in the end.
Eating a Sweet Potato Lying Down
The one lesson Kingsley learned from his mentor Scooby was to eat lying down. Oh, and Kingsley LOVES sweet potatoes!
